    Post Squats

Is there any lift that I could do instead of squats and does the same thing that includes dumbbells? It is really hard for me to get the bar off my bench, since I have a workcenter at home, because there is a poll in my garage in the way. I tried doing dumbbell squat, but the dumbbells rub against my leg. Anyone know anything else I could do? Lunges maybe? Would those do the same thing?

Do one leg squats, use a block or something to stand on and go down with one leg (you could use the pole in your garage for support.

This way you can use less weight, easier to hold but still get the same workout as regular squats.

Are you talking about a reverse step up Scotty? No matter if they're reverse or regular step ups, they are very good. I do them on a bench I have at home that is 20 inches high. Gives me an excellent leg workout!

If the dumbbells rub your legs too much during regular dumbbell squats (I assume because you are holding the dumbbells at your sides) you might try doing dumbbell hack squats.

I thought that was a one legged squat. I do those too for 5+ reps on each leg without weight.

Pistols and one legged squats are the same exercise people just have different names for everything. One legged squats on a high box are good too.
