    To Much Cardio?

My training partner is doing cardio everyday twice a day. He is doing HITT for 20 mins and fat burning for 45 mins. Can you do to much cardio? What do you all think? His goal is to lean out. His training and diet seems to be on time.

Yes, you can easily do too much and sacrifice LBM for the goal. Typically that kind of program results in a 50/50 or worse loss of BF with LBM....skinfolds along the way here tell the story.

Ordinarily in a cut, you want to start with nutrition, then tweak your nutriton, then do as little cardio as late as possible...starting slowly...thern adding sessions.

Two-a-days, will deplete you, knock the hell out of your immune system, make training with maximal loads more difficult, all which can compromise LBM...the only reason for 2-a-days is if you are out of time for the stage or a shoot or have to!

That said, there is some evidence that multiple bouts of cardio in the same day, work better than one session alone I'd make the resistance training session MORE INTENSE, and reduce cardio!

I'm training a Kickboxing aerobics instructor right now.....I can't even believe she is cardiovascularly trained....our sets leave her panting... (Far more benefit to the anaerobic bursts we do on O2 uptake, VO2 max, Metabolic rate, etc than what she does!)

Johnny...if you want to compete (and sorry I haven't E-mailed you)......we will be glad to help with your nutrition/training.......all it takes is picking a contest...and starting a "I'm gonna kick My.... err...some Ass" journal!

You were only 4-6 weeks out in your pics There was enough proportion, symetry and mass to do well and have fun. To be very at home on a stage!

    Consider it!

I agree with DP, your friend is going to lose hard earned LBM. There is no need for that much cardio.

I am cutting right now and I do HIIT cardio 2 times per week for 15 minutes.

Thanks Prince! I also do Hitt twice a week and have thought about cutting back to once a week or even to none. I don't want to get to much leaner until I decide to do something. My deit is always strict.
