    Doms

I have skipped working out for almost 3 weeks now due to bad elbow and forearm pain. Anybody know how long before delayed onset muscle soreness will kick in? It even hurts to pick up a gallon of milk or unscrew a jar. Im thinking about toughening it out, take a couple of pills and hitting it. I feel extremely guilty. Any ideas?

I phrased it wrong. I was wondering how long of a layoff from training before doms kicks in. I think i have some type of tendonitis.

This isn't DOMS! You're injured. Either rest and research some therapy or get to a doctor.

??? DOMS is post workout soreness. I'd say what, 24 to 48 hours...Anything later than that and I would say you're acutely, mildly, or otherwise-ly injured.

???? or are you saying how long do you have to not workout for, in order to fall out of shape enough that doms becomes a problem? (this seems like a weird question if so, and would depend on your diet and workout intensity, etc)

OMG! Definitley NOT DOMS. Rest, Ice asap. You may have some trigger points in your forearm and or inflamation fore sure. You could try a nuero muscular massage therapist, too.

That is my question. I know my injury is not delayed onset muscle soreness.

I know my arms won't heal without significant rest.

you can always train the other half of your body - calves, hams, quads, erectors, abs!

I have had tendonitis many times throughout the years, but I always felt that training legs, etc, helped me heal up faster than just pure rest.

Might be more mental than physical - as staying out of the gym is harder than figuring out a way to train that doesn't aggravate existing injuries.

You are injured bro, and tendonitis can take weeks to heal completely.

How's your insurance? Got any? Low copay? If so go see a doc or specialist. How do we know it's tendonitis?

I had tendonitis years ago. It got so bad I had to have a cast put on my arm.
