blasted chest yesterday and its kinda sore today.did legs two days ago and there still kinda sore. i don't have to work today and dont have much else to do. if i was going to go i would do back.or should just take today off and rest and stuff my fat face all day lol
I'd go, but I'd probably train abs/calves/cardio - I don't like sitting home, but neither do I like wasting a workout (training a major muscle group like back when I am not able to give it 100%)... some will say go (train anyways - don't be a pussy!), some will say stay home (you only grow when you rest!)... I go simply because it is easier to train than to not train (staying out of the gym is harder than going)...

Sore
Well, whatever you did on your training day is now history. So, this is for future reference.
Sorness is an indication that you pushed the muscles too far. There are several reason this occurs. The overriding reason is being overly ambitious and pushing too hard, which is poor judgement.
I've done that myself.
The point of training is to stimulate muscle growth not to annilihate it.
"Wound Healing"
The more trama placed on the body, as with training, the longer the recovery time. Thus, you still being sore from training legs a few days ago indicates that it going to take you sometime to recover.
You have some muscles have some inflammation. Inflammation is the body's natural process in healing.
Inflammating also indicates that the healing process is still going on. The whole body's focus in on one thing, healing you.
With that information in mind, let's look a the...
Carry Over To Back Training
A training day in which you still have soreness in your legs and chest is going to compromize your recovery.
Think about it like this, if you had the flu and performed a hard training session. You immune system is already struggling. Performing a hard training session will only make things worse, delay your recovery.
I realize your sorness is nothing like the flu.
Actually, some training will help you.
Active Recovery Back Day
In a situation like yours, what you want to do is have a light training day. What helps with recovery is increasing blood flow to the muscles.
One of the jobs of circulation is to deliver nutrients and to "take out the garbage", so to speak.
Increasing Blood Flow To The Injured Area
What you also need to so is perform some VERY light high repetition movement for your legs and chest. The focus is to increase blood flow to those area to remove lactic acid and other by products.
Passive Recovery
Passive recovery means means using method that do not involve exercise to increase blood flow to the muscles.
1) Warm Bath or Shower
2) Heating Pad applied to the overtrained muscles.

Maybe you should change your split. Instead of legs, chest, back do something like chest, legs, back.
I do all my pressing movements monday and tuesday...... monday is shoulders tuesday is chest. I tried to rest between the two give 2-3 days between but always felt that my shoulders were always suffering with crazy pain. After playing around with different workouts I felt great with doing all my pressing in a row. I agree with what some of these guys are saying with changing up the workouts so you can work around soreness if it occurs. I give my back and shoulders plenty of time between workouts and also between my deadlifts and legs. Taking a day or 2 off is why they have split workouts! I don't agree with pushing it to hard being a bad sign.....just eat, rest and stretch. But to answer your question.......FUCK YES GO TO THE FUCKING GYM!!!!!!!! destroy whatever muscle isn't sore!

Pressing Movements Back To Back
Training the same muscle group on consecutive days isn't a good idea. More time is needed to allow them to recover.
I question how well it really works for you. It is unlikely it will work for anyone else.

Everthing looked good until we got to the "...destroy whatever muscle isn't sore!"
