if you flex the hip first u will do a good morning. Depending on the variation of squat ur performing, knee flex ion will occur at various degrees. If you do a narrow squat knee flexion occurs first with increasing hip flex ion to the bottom.

In most of the Sqat how-to's it is said that you have to start the descend with your hips. But in Stuart Mc Brown's book, he instructs to "start by bending your knees for a few inches fistst and then your hips will automatically bend. Do not bend at your hips first"
So which is right?

I have no idea what that means. I bend the hips and the knees simultaneously.
To speak before you think is like wiping your ass before you shit!

It's just like if you are going to sit down
The break is at the hips and it is BACK. Like you are sitting down yes but think about sitting down on a toilet (sexy yes I know) if is down and BACK. YOU push your knees apart on the descent so you are sitting down and back between them.

this totally depends on if you are low bar squatting or high bar squatting. on low bar you do push you hips back first
This depends on stance width and bar placement. High bar, Oly style is at the knees first, but low bar, PL style will be hips first.

i initiate by pushing hips back a little...not a whole lot, as advocated by the West Side camp
