    Do pull ups count??

I like to do 1 or 2 sets of pull ups prior to working out each body part to serve as part of my warm up routine.

However when I train my back I start with 3 sets of pull ups and 3 sets chin ups. My question is do you count the combined 6 sets towards your work out routine when switching to weights?? My routine consists of 5 different machines going 3 sets, 10 reps per function totaling 15 sets. This does not include the pull ups and chin ups. How do you approach this scenario??

why wouldnt pullups count as part of your back routine?????? look at a gymnasts body.. perfect. they do a ton of pullups..you ought to do a few more sets..

Both ways are great. Pull ups for back. Chins for biceps.

    I say it depends.

If you are doing just body weight pull ups and you are not taxing yourself and can do them fairly easily, I would count that as just warm up and not part of your main working sets.

    Do pull ups count??

I usually start with weighted pull ups and finish my routine off with weighted pull ups behind the neck.

I agree with x~factor - whether to count them or not depends on whether the sets are hard enough (require enough effort) to be considered "working sets" or "warmups".

Personally, I start with pullups (2 sets with body weight as warmup, then 3 sets with additional weight) and I only count the 3 weighted sets as working sets.
