I've torn a pec but never a tricep. This method wasn't around back when I did it and it may only be effective with limbs.
However, this may be something that might help.
I use this method in part of my training program. There is something to it.

Second Turning Point
In this section of the article, Sato goes into a skiing accident that fracturing both ankles and tears cartilage and the medial collateral ligament his right knee.
Sato leg was put in a cast.
Sato used Kaatsu Training (Occlusion Training) with the leg with the cast on. Instead of atrophy, muscle hypertrophy occured.
Kaatsu Training/Occlusion Training
One of it uses is for individuals recovering from surgery, injury or immobilization.

I have not but am interested in how an advanced weight trainer like yourself did.
I went in and wasn't hydrated correctly from the day before. went and trained arms the next morning and went to a heavy movement I hadn't done in a long time and I went deep in the stretch (negative) and felt something weird!
I had a workout partner that had a small tear. He was out for 6 weeks, he still lifted but it was very light, it felt like he was back in no time.
That's good to hear! It turned black and blue w/ blood, but nothing crazy. I can flex it, I just can bend it back like a DB behind the neck or even push downs! Been training my legs 3 times a week.. Going to orthopedic sports injury doc tomorrow.. It's hard not to think negative when this happens. I've heard if the BRACHII fully ruptures, it's game over!
Tore the my bicep, just the outside where it attaches near the ebow.Doing heavy preachers.Black and blue for a week.Tingling in my hand for about a month. No lifting for a month. Then very light. It reatached about 1/2 inch up the arm.Not a full rupture.Hasnt given me any problems since.Just as strong as before.Apperence is different from my right.
Hopefully you wont need surgery. And will reattach fine. Then take IT SLOW!
^^ really similar as far as discoloration.. Just got out of the surgeons office and he doesn't want to do surgery. With the right amount of therapy and rest, he said I would be gtg in a month .. Thanks brother!
Hypo what movement were you doing when it happened?
