Stubborn calf knot wouldn't roll-out; size of a golfball. Tried for months. Then, tore calf muscle right at the knot playing racquetball. On crutches for ten days, and now, six weeks later, fully healed.
Foam-rolled after leg-day today. Knot is completely gone. Fuck the rollers; just tear the dang muscle instead.
So it's the foam rollers fault? Do you think the foam roller is a licensed massage therapist, NSAID, that it keeps you hydrated, that it stops you from overtraining, ect..? A foam roller is a tool, not a cure all. When something doesn't work you should try looking for another solution.
