Unfortunately, you're going to loose muscle mass if you don't train, there is no trick to avoid this and not much to slow down the process either. On the bright side, you'll likely be able to get to where you are quickly when you're good to train again. In the meantime, your goal should be to maintain a healthy weight and try not to gain too much fat. You can do this by following a relatively clean diet and do anything active that you can do safely without halting the healing process.
