I agree with your thinking. I can squat 2x my weight, but I'm not close still more than a hundred in the dead and overhead press.

I'm still trying to get in the 1.5x club (320@220 so far is my best).

Eskimo, I'm opposite of you. I can dead 2x, but need another 85 to reach 2x on the squat.

Captain, like you I can dead more than I squat (500 vs. 450ish).

Interesting. I guess that is further evidence that you can never base what you do in the gym on what others can do. We're all different.

No lie! Same with olympic lifters, different bodystyles will be better at different lifts, most of the time. If you look at Anthony Clark though, he was tall but could still bench like a mother, reverse grip at that.

last time i did it was when I was around 200 but with low bf.
it was 415lbs. i havent maxed out since then.
me and one of my friends have a bet saying what ever he benches I will curl, waht ever he curls I will do it one handed.
what ever he squats i will bench. to beat me is his driving force. he is 5/6 at 135. he has worked out inconsistently to mantain for 2-3 years and now he is working out and eating like a demon. that in turn makes me work out like a demon.

btw I know anthony clarks family pretty well. his younger brothers larry and john have taught me a lot of things about working out and cars. they also have their ovn brand of supplements which is pretty good. they are all strong as hell. even their mom works out with weights almost everyday. and i think she is over 60

yep, best was during the winter this year when i was weighing in at 210 and got 420 for 3 clean reps. maxed at 435. i'm done to about 190 @ 8%BF right now. still can get 405 for 1 maybe 2. cannot wait until next winter, looking to bulk up to about 230-240 so i know that 2x will probably be out of the picture, but looking for 450!

    Nice numbers.

Actually, I was hoping to bulk up next winter to 230+ and still get double. Perhaps I am being over agressive. Time will tell.

benching twice my weight has never been a goal really. first i want to hit 300, then 3 plates, and then 4 plates. that's all i really want out of benching. i fall under the tall catergory with long arms (6'3) so im not naturally tuned for benching a lot i guess.
