burning fat

just out of curiousity, how exactly does your body get rid of fat? like where does it start? what's usually the first/last to go? or is it different for everybody?

Your body doesn`t get rid of fat the fat cells just shrink. You always have the same amount of fat cells they just get bigger or smallerif you eat too much.

Very true, but during adolescence or with obesity the number of adipocytes can increase in number.

And the body can also selectively kill cells (apoptosis), including fat cells, but this is a rare occurence (leptin can do it).

If you are on a low carb diet ,once your body depletes it`s supply of glucose and glycogen you will hopefully burn fat as fuel. You should do low carbs for three days or so followed by two higher carb days.Keep your protein high so as to stop catabolism.

Your body decides where it comes off.

Chicken Daddy,I know you don`t have to be on a low-carb diet to burn fat ,but it does seem to help in the long run.Perfecto ,I don`t think that the areas you mention are really an issue as you will most likely burn fat throughout the entire body as a whole. These spots can be troublesome later as the last areas for fat to come off. This is not always the case however.
