Personally, I don't like 5 day splits because it doesn't give you enough rest days. Either go for a 3 or a 4 day split.
You said that your progress was slow on a 3 day split. Even if it's slow, if you're making progress that's what counts! But you might want to change something around in your workout to speed up this progress or, if all else fails, you might have to do a complete overhaul! i say stick to a 3 day split, like large said it doesn't give you enough rest days.
also, if you are making any progress at all you are doing something right. bodybuilding is a long term, don't expect overnight results. |

i was wondering what is more effective, i have plenty of time on my hands... i can do a 3 day split, or a 5 day split... i've always worked out with a 3day split and although i have noticed progress, its been farely slow...
