PT Certification
BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com Can anyone recommend a good PT certification? I've been looking into ISSA, but it's a little pricey for me right now. Are there any that are a bit lower in price, but still well respected? I was hoping to get started asap and wouldn't be able to afford ISSA for a couple months.
Thanks! |

I have my certification thru the ISSA and it's worth it. I went to the seminar a few months ago and it was taught by Tom Platz, that alone was worth the price IMO. He was great, and hearing all of his stories about Arnold was awesome.
Just remember you get what you pay for. |

Yeah...I was thinking the same thing actually. Just trying to find a way to get started immediately. I'll hold off until I have the $ for ISSA. Thanks for the info.

NASM is good.
ACE NSCA CSCS are all good also. |

NSCA CSCS is the top and most respected certification but its mostly for dealing with strength coaching. If you can even call it strength coaching anymore.. more like performance specialist
ACE is cheap and decent. ISSA is expensive and worth it. You walk into a gym and apply the certification you hold will mean little. Kc |

Awhile back was listed by GP or someone which certifications were "meant for" or specialized in what, diet, nutrition etc.
ISSA is the only group I have looked at really. |

If you are looking to train general pop, common folk, ACE is as much as you need. If you are looking into dealing with athletes, the NSCA's CSCS or NASM's PES are what you want. In terms of the most respected, I would have to say ACSM is the most respected since you have to have a degree in an exercise related field to even take the test followed by NSCA which just requires that you have a degree in anything for the CSCS. From what I have heard about the CSCS, even people who have a degree in the field have a hard time passing it the first time. I saw one of their practice test and the depth of the information is absurd, stuff you would never use in a real life application, but stuff they can put in it to make the test hard.
