Both, there is no absolute rep range. I recommend you use the 4-6 rep range, 6-8, 8-10 and 10-12.

If you were to stay in one rep range let's say 6-8, even if you increase weight, ultimately your body will stop responding.

    Okay thanks
I want to gain mass but get strong also. Do you recommend the 6-8 as the closest way to hit both?

6-8 is a good rep range for size and strength, but as I said for continued progress you really need to incorporate many rep ranges.

Although it also depends on the individual, e.g. fiber make-up, if you're predominantly white fiber you will respond much better to a 6-8 rep range than someone that is predominantly red fiber.
