The most common answer to your question is "It depends on your goals."

I do cardio three or four times a week, two hours at a time, but my goals are probably different than 99% of the people on this board.

    hehe dg

for me at least I need it...I dunno if it's mental or whatever but sometimes I just need to go out and gasp for air for a few hours. I probably fall into the same boat as Baboon...cyclist people are weird to begin with

anyways - cardio isn't really needed as DG said, you should be able to cut on diet alone. Do cardio if you enjoy it (is that possible?!) or feel you need it. I know that diet alone isn't enough for me, my body gets pissed and holds fat unless I give it a little kick in the arse with some cardio. YMMV
"To be a cyclist is to be a student of pain....at cycling's core lies pain, hard and bitter as the pit inside a juicy peach. It doesn't matter if you're sprinting for an Olympic medal, a town sign, a trailhead, or the rest stop with the homemade brownies. If you never confront pain, you're missing the essence of the sport. Without pain, there's no adversity. Without adversity, no challenge. Without challenge, no improvement. No improvement, no sense of accomplishment and no deep-down joy. Might as well be playing Tiddly-Winks."

I not saying it is not needed, because sometimes it is. But to gain size, it is just hard when you do cardio. And your correct, diet is the biggest key!

I only do cardio when I`m cutting and usually if I want to get below 10% bodyfat. I can get to 10% with a good strict diet.

I do cardio three to four times a week. I ride a bike (usually 45 minutes to an hour) and swim (15 to 30 minutes).
