I chose Arnold, asthetically he was a Greek god on steroids
I was never a big Zane fan really. Samir and Chris I dont know a whole lot, but I remember them in the 80s, more Samir though as he was still doing Weider promo stuff into the late 80s.
Larry Scott was cool, Sergio also, Yates had a back, other than that he looked kinda cruddy to me.

It's so easy to go with Arnold - and I like him a lot too and study much of his work. But, I have always liked the balance and symmetry of Zane though - he packs a lot of muscle on a much smaller frame. So, i went ahead and voted for Zane knowing that most everyone is predispositioned to go for mass and height. I just like Zane's style and ability to stay in the game but hate to have to vote for only one - since the whole market was created with the collective determination of all the old great veterans that each and everyone one of us could most personally identify with.

Its not even just mass and height for me, Arnold looked better than just about anyone I can think of asthetically. Alot of the freaks just dont have that magical look Arnold did. I think Paul Demayo would have been another favorite of mine but he was never really appreciated in the Olympia.
But, yes Zane is too small to really get excited about for me.

I'd say Arnold is the greatest but Sergio is the most underrated in my opinion. He had a great physique. I won't go so far as to say better than Arnold's but I don't think he's gotten all the "props" he deserves.

Under rated? He is remembered well as the first mass monster to this very day!

I voted dorian just because he was the first body builder I ever saw in a magazine and was blown away. I do like arnold just as much though...but, I knew everyone else would vote for him![]()
I think Mike Mentzer should have won the 1980 Mr. O myself. It's obvious in the posedown that Arnolds legs are something left to be desired. Everyone knows that he started his legs late and it showed. Yes he's a star now with his famous one-liners but he just wasn't all that in 1980, even though he won. Mike had the most proportionate natural physique.
Mike Mentzer was Dorian Yates's mentor.
