Your tatto will probably stretch out as you grow so you may need to get it touched up a bit. I have also heard that tattoos can lead to a little bit of atrophy in the muscle that they are on, but I don't know if that is even that true.

Think very hard before you get a tattoo. Many serious body builders regret the day they got them. It takes away from the body's image and immediately "classes" you and limits any photo opportunities you might have with sponsors and product endorsers. Some sponsors promote very wholesome lifestyles and do not want to associate their products with a very narrow class of society. Most pro's that have tattoos go out of their way to use creams and body dyes to cover up and hide tattoos for competition and photo shoots. I'm not making judgements here but just giving you what I think the facts are.

Not that I will be competing any time soon, but I have 4 tattoo's. I think it has a lot to do with what the tattoo is and if is tasteful.

It kills me that sponsers would do that, when a pro bodybuilder has ruined his liver and kidneys from excessive drug use to achieve thoose results, just another display of corporate crap. Oceandude just using your qoute, I have mad respect for you.

skin stretches and depending on where they are there is a chance of it stretching, but it depends on what the tat is if its all black like tribal then I think stretching would be alittle hard to notice, but if its a very detailed with color shading I think it would be noticeable.

I have a big tat on my shoulder blade , from my top traps to lower rips, since i just started working out again i am also a little worried about deformation, but i also don't want to be huge.

well anyways I hope this helped

i have four tats ,two on each arm that i got before i started working out ,ive gained two inches on my arms and havent noticed any huge change ,i think tanning hurts them worse ...but whats the use of being huge if no one can look at your white ass arms ,because they blind everyone .

wraith is right sunlight or uv damages the pigment in the ink making it lighter/fade but you can fix this by getting it redone. =)
