I was wondering since there are a lot of commercials, presenting electric stimulation. If they are any good. The're not for me personally, but for a friend who has a back problem. Not being able to go to the Gym or have any strenious exercises, could this be something. It's not the purpose to look really muscular or anything, just to use on the Abs, and buttocks, to get them toned. Any advice is welcome. Maybe there are some of you who have used it, and could give me some extra information. Thanks a lot.....

Those commercials are presenting them for rehab situations because they can't come on and say that they help you lose weight anymore. These products are a complete crock, to put it bluntly.
You can't build strength and muscle without resistance exercise unless the muscle is completely untrained and atrophied and even then only slightly. These products prey on the misinformed and promise things that they can't possibly deliver. Don't waste your money. An exercise does not have to be strenuous to be effective. Your friend would be better off in a gym with a trainer showing them proper form on back and core exercises so that they can start to develop some support and stability. |

Just that's the problem with my friend. His back isn't strong enough, even sitting on a wrong chair gives problems. Even had already some injections for the pain, and still the docters don't really know wha it is. On the otherhand, with the help of a healthshop owner, when my friend takes creatine, most of the problems go awway, altough they are not soved completely. Therefore I was wondering to use such a divice until the muscles are more used to the stimulation before going to the Gym.

So in fact they have use as long as that persons is not able to have a normal workout. So i was wondering in how long you have to use them before you can go over to a normal workout. Did anyone of you already had experience with them?

Tell your mate to do a Pilates class.
Evidently Pilates is the name of the person who devised a training regime for rehabilitating athletes. My GF got me to go with her and it's really taught me about inner core strength. I've also realised it helps with showing off your abs As a bonus most classes I've been to are nearly all chicks!!! I'm sure there's exercises on the net to research. If your mate explains his injury the class instructor can help with which exercises to try. Oh, Madonna swears by it, even puts it in her songs. |
