I was just curious about this. When I do a heavy workout, especially on pecs I usually have some little annoying twinges i nthe muscle area but no big pain the day after, then a day after that I usualy get bigger pains, is this normal to not have the discomfort right away? Are you still developing muscle? I like to do 4-8 and 6-10 reps with 4 or 5 sets to gain mass, jsut wanted to see if the two day or so after discomfort was normal.

This happens to me when I do legs after a layoff. No soreness the day of the workout, a little pain the day after that, but the 2nd day after the workout, POW, the pain hits.
It's called DOMS, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, occurring from 24-48 hours after the workout and generally is gone after a day or two.
