    Question Forearm Exercises

Can anyone suggest some forearm exercises? (GoPro
I'd like to get an idea of the variety of exercises, maybe I'll find something better than barbell curls using the forearm.

There is an AWESOME site that lists exercises for every muscle and also has a animated picture of how to perform the exercise.

    It's http://exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

Here is a direct link to the forearm section: http://exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ForeArmWt.html

Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
    blood stream.

the best things do do for forearms are heavy lifts. Deadlifting, power exercises, farmers walks, using heavy dumbells in general are all great, better than wrist curls for sure.

Jon FWIW I still do the same stuff, 2-3 sets extentions and 3-4 sets of curls, slowish, higher reps I dont mind.

I dont use gloves and I dont use a belt, and I can hold my 450# on the shrug machine with no problems

Don't cheat like Kane did, you might rip your bicep =p, I just want some good looking big forearms. Only reason I would really use gloves, and I forgot them the other day, is 'cause I don't have calluses anymore (and don't really want them), my grip is usually pretty fine. Maybe I'll go check out what Dorian Yates does. (Not 'roids, the exercises =)

Would it be detrimental to use gloves if you were trying to build up your forearms, I mean does it hinder it somehow maybe because you don't have to try as hard to keep a grip on the weights?

I personally don't like gloves much, but it should not really hinder anything IMO.

it hinders your grip when you start to go heavier. you don't want anything to interfere with your grip, you want to grip the bar/dumbell as tight as possible

For me it makes the bar seem thicker which may make it harder to hold, I just prefer to feel the steel. Now if the bar is a bit worn it will be harder to hold, so more grip is required.
