You can isolate the upper chest and you can isolate the three deltoid heads. You can also isolate one tricep head over another as well as inner and outer quads.
This does not mean you can do so without activating fibers along the entire muscle, just that you can affect an area of a complex muscle group more strongly than another.
This can and will be argued until all of us are dead, but in my mind the fact is undabatable.
