Is the muscle growing the rest of the week?

I feel the muscles are not growing after 2 - 3 days from the workout.
But we still need to eat 1g/lb of protein everyday.
I want to know what time the muscles grows actually. Is it growing every night from the workout till the next workout of that muscle group?
I read in an article that to optimize hypertropy, it seems better to work 3 times a week for a muscle group. But i don't find this good because , my usual muscle soreness (for example) declines nicely after about 3 days.
And I won't be able to perform at maximum if i were to work out 3 times a week.
However...if the muscles are not growing well 2-3 days after the workout....should we let them rest?

All i want to say is that ...i dont' want to spend a day without having a muscle growing somehow.
    Every suggestion is appreciated sincerely

I have news for you. A muscle can take weeks to complete the growth process! The rebuidling of muscle tissue after we tear it down with an intense workout is almost an ongoing process. Whether you are sore or not means nothing. The muscles are always in a state of loss and gain, loss and gain...the idea for us is to make sure that the gain (anabolism) outweighs the loss (catabolism).

Everyday you must optimize your diet, supplements, and rest along with putting in good workouts. Training a muscle 3 times per week will never allow that muscle to repair unless you are a genetic freak or on drugs.

Train each muscle group intensely once every five to seven days and spend as much time in between eating good food and resting up!

yup, that's why it's a good idea to alternate your heavy and light work-outs, week one = heavy, week two = light, week three = moderate, week four = heavy again...or something like that. This way the muscles will not atrophy from disuse, and at the same time be able to continue their growth.
