I never arm wrestle with my friends because usually all they do is twist your wrist, and you are done. Not a true test of someones strength unless done correct.

arm wrestling is all about technique (curl wrist and pull towards your own body.. first one to do this will prolly win).. i say you work out to improve functional strength, not some idiotic activity meant to show who's the stronger guy

    lol

I think working out deff helps in arm wrestling!

In school i was crap at arm wrestling, I don't recall winning at all... then I went to a party a few months back. I beat some pretty big guys there, guys that most ppl would have thought could beat me easily (because they are naturally more bulky looking than me) I beat. My arm killed after it! But I know i wouldn't have won if I wasn't lifting so much

Just work your whole upper body man, in particular bi's and delts (my bi's really ached after it!)

Arm wrestling involves the combined effort of several muscles...forearm flexors, biceps, brachialis, internal rotators, pecs, abdominals to name a few.

    forearm flexors-wrist curls
    biceps-dumbell curls
    brachialis-hammer curls
    internal rotators-cable internal rotation
    abs-twisting crunches

Arm wrestling has a LOT to do with the ability to "lock" your arm and shoulder together, then use your body weight as the lever.

I am friends with a local champ. He weighs all of 165-170 soaking wet. He has the ability to take guys twice his size. To look at him you'd never know he was good at it.

Once you learn the technique, adding size will definitely get you places.
    I pedal... Therefore I am.
