    Trap exercises - newbie

Hi guys and gals, I have been following your site for awhile and have gathered alot of good info. I just joined tonight and here is my first question. Can someone give me a good program for traps? I have been doing shrugs and upright rows, but how many sets and reps and are there any other good exercises for traps. Thanks for any help.

i wouldn't upright row cuz it can mess up your rotator cuff.. shrugs (bb and db) are good.. presses and deadlifts are also effective at working traps

don't shrug off upright rows man (get it...shrug..haha ). they are a good exercise to do IMO. deadlifts and powercleans are great for trap work, farmers walks are good too, behind the back shrugs, lower cable shrugs, those can be good too, show the traps some variety while training besides just shrugs. Don't forget that traps come down pretty far into the upper back so rowing can be effective as well for them.
