Unhappy I am getting muscle twitch

I wish this is not 90% sign of overtraining..since i am not doing so many sets each secession.

What should i eat. I don't like taking drugs. Usuallly i eat meats, rice, bread, potatoes, eggs, milk, some vegetables and milo.

I drink protein only on workout days. I think i need more sleep.

Could be low water intake also.

If you want diet help, hit the diet forum. Post your complete diet and stats.

You need protein EVERY DAY, not just workout days.

How often are you getting it? Is it constant or just happens once in a while?

It could be nothing, but could mean you need more water or electrolyte minerals. It does not necessarily mean you are overtrained.

What exactly is he referring to? I mean, after my workouts(which go to failure), my muscles are so tired (specially forearms) that my hands shake. They respond, but they shake, like they have no strength left. I

I agree with Plouffe: potassium. I occasionally have muscle spasms (usually my left quad), and eventually found a mention of potassium on the web. Whenever it happens, a couple of extra bananas always takes care of it. Extra water is always a good thing to try too.

I am under the impression that over training is a long term effect. I don't know what short term symptoms may occur, other than poor/declining workouts. Others on this board obviously know much more than I do on that topic.

I did want to say that what you just described is different than what I've experienced. If anything, my twitches go away during, and for some time after, a workout. I'd speculate this is due to increased blood flow. In any case,

    Signs of having Calcium Deficiency

    Muscle spasms and twitches
    Muscle cramps
    Nervousness
    Slow wound healing
    Insomnia
    Elevated cholesterol levels
    Brittle nails
Heart palpitations ( irregular rapid beating )
    Aching joints
    High blood pressure
    Tooth decay
    Rheumatoid arthritis
    Irritability

Also, studies have shown that calcium is best absorbed while sleeping. This means that you should take your calcium after the final meal of the day as it contains large amounts of fiber and is taken just before sleep. The only other method of supplementing with calcium that has been proven is smaller doses spread throughout the entire day, which can become rather tedious. However it can be more effective.

Its recommend that you supplement with 1000 milligrams of calcium carbonate or citrate ( the highest quality forms ) for every 100 pounds of body weight per day. If you're in the 2000 milligram range or higher split the dosage in two. Make sure it is taken after a meal.
