    Add mass below calves

    Do you know an exercise to work the area below the calves, I need to put more mass in there. My calves are ok but the area below is thin.. genetics? or is there something, I hope

    There you go. Besides those exercises listed be sure to stimulate the fast twitch fibers in your calves by doing some type of plyometric training or sprinting. Do that combined with proper weight training and I guarantee the calves will come along.

    Remember with calf training you have to train your soleus along with your gastroc...it lies underneath and inserts lower down on the leg and provides a lot of the size.

    It is stimulated with the knees bent, the gastroc is stimulated when the knees are straight. Train with some bent leg movements like seated calf raises.

    This is my current calves routine:

    Seated calf raises 4 x failure ( > 15reps)
    Squat barbel raises (with 2 plates for foot support) 3 x 15
    45 angle in leg press machine 2 x 20
