I use Bands occassionally when I bench for resistence training.

I wrap one end around the bar and the other around the loop on the back side of the bench. I do this on both sides and put 25lb plates on both sides and rep out 5 sets of 30.

Also -- Try this one..... wrap one end of the band around the right side of the bar only & stretched and wraped around the loop on the back side of the bench. Picture this.......laying on your back. (after the band is in place and ready for you to rep out your set) pick up the bar as though you were going to bench press using both arms. Since you put the band on the right side keep your left arm straight and in place while lowering your right side down to your where your fist meets your chest. Do this in a controlled but quick fashion. Do this for 4 sets of 15-20reps, then switch sides. Do the right arm then the left arm. This counts as one set. If you're using the strongest band, and it's too easy for ya, then add a plate and clip the end of the bar.

Let me know what ya think. It's a good work out. I also use bands on (while using weights) leg press, jump squats, Dead lifts, shrugs, pull down drop sets, abs, shoulder press, dips, etc....I don't use the bands with each exercise. I spand them out.

Bands are for extra tension at the end of the rep. Blocks are for spacers, they also use boards i.e. a "4 board press" and so on, for power lifting in a certain range which is good for breaking plateus especially in that specific rep range.

Bands have many pros when it comes to power. They allow you to break threw your sticking point with variable resistance through your rep motion. When doing bench or squats attatch a band to each end of the barbell. Now with each take one to a dumbell of weight around 50-100 pounds depending on how much you are pressing on the bar alone. when the bar is racked you want the bands to be stretched out that way when you are at the top of the rep your bands will be tight making you exert more during the top half of your lift. These really help your power and break through your sticking points.
Now blocks are placed as spacers for example on your chest and it allows you to only go down about half way on each rep. That allows you to add increased weight so your body can get use to heavier weight and you will eventualy be able to press that normaly. Once again its a lift that lets you break through your sticking point but more so it allows your body(traps, delts, pecs, and tri's) a chance to get a feel of the weight before you press it normaly.
Try the workout when you start plateau, I'm sure you will be out of your rut in no time.

    That sounds greast Babsie!.
But only if it's not to much trouble.
I was just curious and sometimes it's hard to get a good visualization by words alone

I'll just do them all....hell with it.....I'll post them hopefully on Monday.

I know where you're coming from. That's why I'm willing to go through the hassle of setting up some different sets you can do with bands. I may not be in the picture itself, but I'll have the set up. I'll demonstrate the ones that aren't self expressed.
