Newbie needs help with routine please

You might have read my thread in the supplements forum, if so you know I am a total newbie when it comes to working out and all.

Me and my friend start our workout tommorow and I'm really excited but I wanted to clear something up before we start.

We plan to work out three days a week, I have made up a routine that works all parts of the body, but my question was...do I stick to this routine every day we work out, or do I split it up like I have seen many people do..like legs one day...upper body the next...etc..

Since our workout will workout full body, should I just stick with it or break it down into seperate days.

If you would, please let me know, I do not want to end up hurting my body in the long run by doing the wrong routines.

The rule of thumb. Never work the same body part consecutively.
You always want to give the muscle at least 1 day to rest and grow.

The pros will recommend different things... Some say use the push and pull method where you do nothing but push excercises one day, and pull exercises the other. Others say do arms and back one day, and chest and shoulders another, and a seperate day for legs. There are an endless number of ways to do it.
Me, I lift my arms one day (tris and bis) and the next day I work lats, delts, and traps, then the next day I do chest and legs. That is an example of my routine.

But select a routine that is comfortable for you. If one does not work, keep trying other methods till you find one that works best.
