    Anybody use a chiropractor?

I had a motorcycle wreck a few years ago and slid into a curb. That smack knocked my spine out of whack by 12 degrees. A chiro got me realigned. I believe if you can find a good one they are a big help for people who lift heavy. I still use him to this day.

    Anybody else?

Anybody think they are just quacks? :-)

YES! I used to think they were witch doctors (no offense to any witch doctors on the board ) until they fixed me. Now I go twice a month. Be very careful though, get references from friends. They are not all created equal.

They're like any other trained professional. There are good ones and bad ones.

Consider this: The guy/gal who graduated LAST in their class is still called DOCTOR!

I go to a chiropractor now and then... havent gone since I moved from Chicago, my Chiro there was the bomb. He was also a homeopathic doctor and very well educated in that realm, so he gave lots of good advice as well.

Anyways, all the sitting and typing at computers, driving in cars, lifting heavy weights... these arent natural to the human body.

Anyways Gov, my Moms neck has a touch of arthristis, etc and she used to get migraines all the time. However, she goes to our chiro in chicago and he sets her straight, and she hasnt had any problems recently with them. They arent miracle workers, perhaps your Mothers condition would have been alot worse without his help, or perhaps you just got a bum one. Its always good to get references and make sure the one you go to is top notch

I do believe they can help in trauma situations, but the problem I have with them is I do not feel that they always address the real cause of the problem, they just do their adjustments.

    Hi Guys,
    Sorry to dig this up.
With reguard to the subject, my spine is my main concern with training.
I have a job at a warehouse where i pack pallets, and handle
up to 3/4 million cartons per year.
My back frequently goes out of alignment in two places which
always results in time off work, and chiro visits.

I have noticed sometimes (particularly during standing bicep curls)
I hear clicking in my upper back while training which worries me...
    any thoughts on this??
    Cheers, Art.
    If not actually, then potentially.

I use a chiropractor, every once in awhile, mine is $30 a visit, and she doesn't try to get you to keep coming back. Usually one visit is all it takes and I good to go.

I had this for a few years, one chiropractor I saw showed me on some X-rays that I had a couple of bone spurs. He explained that if you hurt your back, your body sometimes will develop these spurs which look like curved fingers on a vertebra. It's the bodies way of trying to fuse them together.
Not sure if this was BS or not, might be a good subject to research though.

I always likened them to me popping my knuckles. It felt real good for a couple hours, but then it needed to be done again. I quit popping my knuckles. But, Hey! I could be wrong.

i used to go almost religiously..... if ur insurance will cover it, do it. if not, it can get pricey. plus ive noticed that if u do not watch every little thing you do after an adjustment, u can put something back out of place....and.....bye bye 25-45$$. doesnt really seem like something you should do once in a while. if ur gonna go, stick to it and keep going.
