    Actors using gear?

I have often wondered how movie actors bulking up for a character they are playing, can put on quite a few pounds of muscle in let's say 6 months time. From what I have read and believed is that through proper training, nutrition and using gear, this is how they do it.

Take for instance Edward Norton in "American History X" and compare him to other movies, even later ones like "Fight Club"

    Anyone else have other examples?

i think it's the difference between normal people who work and get in meals when they can compared to actors who have trainers who guide them through a workout routine and specifically tailor a diet to that actor.. it'd be wonderful to have someone preparing my meals

Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
    blood stream.

If you really think about it, working out and getting in shape for the role was his job.

When you have un-limited financial resources like that, and you don't have a regular day job to deal with you can make tremendous gains in a short period of time.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.
