The other day while benching I tried going a little heavier but I felt it more in my shoulders rather then my chest. Does this mean I'm putting up to much weight?

hello deadbolt!
since i have the same problem of dominant shoulders i changed my chest routine by pre-exhausting the pecs with high rep pec deck(10-20 reps) or flyes followed by 10-15 rep inclines. you get a much greater pump and work the chest instead of shoulders. if you do both muscle groups on the same day, do shoulders first so they won't be prime movers later on when working the delts.
