    This seems complicated...

Hey guys, I'm trying to get into a healthy diet and exercise plan but it all seems so complicated! Like, if you wanna lose some fat, you have to also worry about losing muscle. ( that seems complicated )

Just some infomation, I'm 15/m and I'm not trying to get super freakishly muscular just "cut" as some people put it. Like on commercials where they show the "hot dude with no top", thats what I'm going for
To me, it seems like there are 3 areas to look at. 1, diet. 2, exercise. 3, supplements. Does anyone have any addvice or resorces where I could read up on any of those?

For supplements, I have been looking at ZMA, Tribulus, Chrysin, and HMB. But I'm not completly sure on which ones to take. Also maybe tell me what you think is the best supplement plan for my age. Also I do not, do not want gyno lol so also warn me if this plan seems like an asking for gyno

For diet...I've been wanting to try just a cereal diet but you guys are probably going to say that's a no-no lol

To be "cut" I bet your have to do alot of cardio to lessen the amount of fat around you. Is that right? I always thought it wouldn't matter lets say if you worked on your abs ( like strenght training ) if there was fat there, you wouldn't be able to see them anyways.

Basically we all want to look good but isn't there a simpler way besides figuring all this out? If you eat basically all healthy foods and exercise daily,
I think you would get the same results compared to if you figured this out.
Well I guess not, I'm looking forward to your help

To get cut proper diet is #1, cardio is secondary. If you were eating a pizza every day you would have to do hours and hours of cardio to offset it, cardio burns a "few" calories and helps get the metabolism going but it wont do the work on its own.

I understand your confusion, and it all can seem overwhelming at first.

Yup, those are the 3 key areas, THIS forum! As well as www.ironmagazine.com where you will find numerous articles.

Forget supplements at this point, focus on a sound diet and training plan.

For diet...I've been wanting to try just a cereal diet but you guys are probably going to say that's a no-no lol
A major key to building muscle and losing fat is protein intake, you need a diet with adequate protein, at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. So, no a cereal diet will not cut it.

Cardio (I believe in HIIT cardio) can definitely help reduce bf, however without a proper diet cardio is worthless. I think you're eluding to "spot reduction" and you're correct it's a myth. The body loses fat as a whole not in one area.

If it were easy and simple everyone would have a great body, the fact of the matter is America is a society of obesity. So, no it's not easy or simple, but it's not really that complicated eithier once you get a good understanding.

1 hour daily, after 5 days in a row @ 65% heart rate I lost 1/4" on my arms. It was then that I admitted diet had to be first and foremost, cardio just sends me into catabolic hell, especially since I was doing it so frequently. I prefer walking or light bike riding.
