    Any non-swimmers in this group?

I didn't learn to swim until I was 12 years old. I thought I was the last person on earth to learn. I was self-taught. Mostly out of a self preservation situation.

Anyone here who hasn't learned to swim?

Of the swimmers, who uses swimming as part of their exercise routine vs just a fun diversion?
I love the sound of clanging iron in the morning. It sounds like victory.

i love swimming. Swam competitively since i was 5, both at school and summer leagues and even higher leagues. I will swim after this bulking phase is over to help shed the fat. Swimming is the sport where u sweat the most and has the lowest impact on ur joints. Also, nothing isolates individual muscles lie stroke drills. (talk about a lat workout when doing fly stroke drills)!

i swim but i'm the only one in my family who does. as a kid my parents couldn't and they wanted me and my sister to learn young. i loved it. she hated it and refused.

i don't really use it as exercise though - mainly to cool off in the summer and relax/have fun.

I competed as a teen in swimming. I don't remember not knowing how to swim. We had a pool and I think I learned how to swim before I walked.

I didn't know how to swim when I was young. When I was in high school I got in the pool and somehow I could swim, not like an expert mind you but I could swim. How I figured it out I guess was subconcious...
