Forced reps = overtraining?
Just read that one should not do many forced reps, max 1 set per training occasion, and maybee just do then every other time.
cuz it leads directly to overtraining, and is extremly stressfull on joints and whatnot? Can this be true? That would mean that drop sets are a no-no aswell? Been doing forced and drop sets like everytime I train... should I stop doing that? Hm, very confusing. Perhaps I shouldnt belive everything I read. |

Hard to say JJJ. Be interesting what some other people say. Personally I try to go to failure on every set (except maybe the first one).

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

What are forced reps? Aren't all reps forced. Also, what are negatives and all those other types of reps?

I asked this question once here's the thread....
Gopro's answer was good Mindless, i think he's refering to the extra reps you get by being spotted after failure on a set. |

I think it's a completely grey area here... I believe that doing forced reps will really stimulate growth, but I also feel much sorer the next day when I do forced reps and really focus hard on the negative movement... especially my left arm, I have made good progress doing this... but only doing each body part once a week... so possibly this type of training can be detrimental to people not giving the extra recovery period required due to the larger damage to the muscle fiber...
