Our department has a gym in every district office. So naturally, I work out at my district office every morning before I begin my shift. And my district office is 8 miles from my home.
vanity asked, "Where do you train?"
I was wondering how long it takes you to get to that Gym, where most of you train?
I work out at home, but would rather use a gym, but with the drive time, I feel it wouldn't be worth it.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

My closer one is a 6 minute drive or a 20 minute run (b/c I can cut through a park)

It was great, the people were great and it was half the price![]()

So for my fav it takes 7 min max, to the one down i love for legs, 25 min, to the one to look at pretty people, the one i never go to, 30 min. Man there are like 3 more i could go to but i don't like them. SO phew.......

I do have a lot of my own equipment, pullely systems for lat pull downs etc. Squat rack, chin bar and the usual stuuf like a benches. I make my own plates out from drops off a burn table, and fab my own stuff with a welder.
I'm waiting for the day this town will have it's own gym, it's growing pretty fast, so it might not take to long.
It sure makes life hard when you have to spend your precious time driving to the gym.
I envy those that only have 15 minutes or less to travel.

Sadly it can take up to 40min to an hour to get to my gym since for now I have to get there by buss and I refuse to pain WHC prices to go there. Though I don't mind the time I just read a good novel.

Know what you mean Leslie about favs. My fav was the Kettering YMCA in Dayton, OH where I worked out several years ago. Huge weight room, great people, only the animals dared to enter. No 'attendents' to follow you around to pick up weights, no elderly or young children so it was ok to use 'colorful language', and the comraderie was incredible. Heck, people even gave you spots without getting pissed off. Really miss that place..
