Do you count the weight of the bar when counting how much weight one can bench press? Or do you just count the weight that you put on? I know it is dumb, but I dont know.

Yes, Olympic bar is 45 pounds - to discount 45 pounds would be pretty nuts

I suppose they are perhaps 20 kilos in Canada, dunno.

I count the bar it seems reasonable. And some Bars can weigh over 60lbs (specailly made bars) friend uses a 60lb bar because he can squat over a 1000lbs on good days. (no shit people I seen him do it, its freaky scary to watch.)

He can SQUAT over a 1,000lbs? If that is true, I don't see much difference between a 60lb bar or a 45lb bar.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

That's OK for doing curls, but what about when you deadlift?
