Do you think about BB all day everyday?

Do you think about BB all day every day sometimes? Do you get upset when your supposed to go to the gym and something comes up where you have to skip your workout that you were looking forward to all day? When you are having conversations with your friends is the topic BB?

Just wanted to see how addicted I am to working out.

My job, wife & kids, other hobbies I'm involved in, stock market investments, are all other activities that help me keep a proper focus of what's truly important in life. At work I do think about my evening workout, but I don't discuss it much with others.

    1. No.
    2. Since I work out early in the morning, life's activities seldom interfere with working out.
    3. No.

I would say that I'm dedicated, but not obsessed.

    Yeah, what he said.

I do get annoyed with myself if I miss a workout, but I am not obsessive about it. I don't lift every day, so if I miss a workout, I just train those muscles the next day.

No. Unless your occupation is becoming a serious bodybuilder, i dont think one should be thinking about it all day long.

I can relate to this post! I see the value of balance, but I can't help being passionate about some things. People without obsessions are a little boring anyway, right?

Some would call it dedicated, i'd label myself obsessed.

Can't help it, wish i could.

i strive to be the best BB i can. it used to be just lifting, but then i got enlightened to all the other things that put so much more into your BB (sleep, diet etc., supps.). so now i'm always thinking what time i have to eat next, what i'll eat, when i'll train.......it never ends.

sometimes i feel overwhelmed, but then i try to tell myself that i don't have to do it, i choose to do it, thats the big difference.

but hey, at least its not crack.
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

    2 months???

    what kind of injury?

I sustained a nerve injury (Brachial Plexus) about 3.5 months ago. It was pretty bad, I went to the ER because of the pain. However, because I am psychotic I was back training after 2 weeks! I probably should have waited another week or two, but I just could not stand it.

well the biggest is my wrist, although I am nursing almost everything it seems. I had surgery about two years ago to place a pin in a bone in the wrist. I never really let it heal properly before I started training it and I re agrivated it recently. It has been giving me a lot of trouble so I am trying to give it a rest. The first time I injured it I was in the gym so quick, even with my cast on I was in there and that was the reason it never healed in the first place so this time I am trying to be smart about it. I wish I could be back though, I am going crazy not being ble to train. I can't stand losing weight and just sitting around not beong able to train

good idea, the biggest mistake I have made is not listening to my body, unfortunately I have always been overly zealous about bodybulding and it's probably caused me more setbacks than gains.
I am getting wiser in my old age though! Just yesterday I was on my third set of standing ez curls, all of sudden I felt a sharp pain in my left shoulder (I have no idea why or what it was), but I immediately stopped.

yeah it is difficult to put things in perspective sometimes and do what is good for you in the long run. My immediate reastion is to tough it out b/c I don't want to be out of the gym. I guess that taking a few month vreak when I am 22 is better than not being able to train at all when I am older, right. thats what I keep telling myself at least.

definitely, you're very young, don't cause chronic injuries.

you're better off letting an inury heal 100% however long it might take.

I injured my rotator cuffs about a year and a half ago, I should have taken a month off from training, but I decided to "work around" the injury. they ended up taking about 6 months to fully heal.

Sounds like I'm in good company here. Glad I'm not the only freak! I've been working out with Carpal Tunnel syndrome in both hands for the past year or so. I know I need to get it fixed. I know that its hindering gains in grip strength (and therefore everything else). I just can't deal with the idea of staying out of the gym for a month or longer. It's getting so bad that I have trouble getting through the work day (typing all day) if I worked out in the morning.
Oh well...better than being a fat ass spending my free time on the couch eating fried food.
