Down side to working multiple groups at once?

If I do different muscle groups at the same time will it be a disadvantage to one or the other? The reason for asking is, when I am doing bench, it is very easy to hit leg raises as a time killer between sets on the bench. I can do one set of leg extensions during the rest between sets on chest. ? or ?

I sometimes superset musclegroups that I am working, e.g. chest & shoulders, but I would leave leg raises for either the end of my work-out or a separate wor-out all together.

The main reason I would not do leg raises in between sets is it would take my focus off of what I am training and it would exhaust me in between sets. But I guess it depends on your goals and the type of routine you're doing.

It all depends on what your training split looks like. With some of my clients that I train I mostly have them do total body workouts once or twice a week. On occasion we superset things like squats and bench press or t-bar rows and leg press etc....It is a great way for them to increase their caloric burn and it really gets blood moving. But you have to look at what your goals are. Most of their goals are fat loss.

Yeah, I agree, that's why my last sentence was "But I guess it depends on your goals and the type of routine you're doing."

What has been said of course is true. I was just trying to use every second of the time. Thinking about it, unless I am going to do legs completely, it really wouldn't make sense to just do that. How does this sound for chest?

    3X6 flat bench
    3X6 incline
    3X6 decline
    3X6 flys with dumbells
    3X6 pull overs

Terrible. Too many exercises and 15 sets for chest is overkill.

Pick two of those exercises for each chest work-out.

And rotate them from work out to work out?

I think 4 exercises for chest in one work-out is too much.
