Unhappy The Total Gym = Pain

About six months ago, I put my dumbbells down and gave The Total Gym a try(the one advertised by Chuck non-acting Norris). One of the reasons I decided to try it is because it is advertised as "safe" way to strength train, with very little risk of injury. To make a long story short, after using it of about 2 months, I developed a very painful trapezius muscle spasm. In laymen's terms, it a pain in the neck (no pun intended). I brought this up in another forum website, and found out that someone else had a developed joint pain upon using the total gym. I hate to throw it away, because I paid a decent amount of money for it. But, I'm not going to continue to use something that will injure me. Is anyone else using this piece of cra... I mean equipment? How is it working for you?

Never used it, nor any other infomercial gadget.

It does not surprise me though....best advice for anyone out there is NEVER purchase exercise equipment from an infomercial.

If I were you I would put an ad in the newspaper, or sell it at a garage sale.

First off - I know people who have seen results with the Total Gym. Secondly - I still wouldn't use that bullshit. And Lastly, Because you were probally lifting your head off the board. Stick with free weights,

Free weights don't cause injury, bad form causes injury, well unless there's some pre-existing medical condition.
What cracks me up is the BowFlex guy, you know he didn't get that body using BowFlex, although I heard it is a good thing if you just want to "tone up" a bit.

BlowFlex may work for some....But I would never invest my money in that... Way to expensive. I invest in equipment that I know works.
