    Best elliptical machine under $1,000

Hi guys, im looking for recomendations on an Elliptical machine for my girlfriend for christmas. She wants to workout at home. I guess it should be able to hold someone my size too. (270lbs) shes about 100 lbs soaking wet. We went to all the stores today and all felt awkward, but I guess we are comparing them to the miltiple thousand dollar ones in the gym.

    any advice is appreciated.

Most of those personal machines are designed to last long enough for the person to begin using them for a clothes rack. Then they are destined to the yard sale.

If she is just 100 lbs, what is her short/long term goal? Maybe a cheap one is all she needs?

My favorite choice for ellipitcal machines is the cybex arc trainer. I am not sure on the price. It is probably pretty expensive but it feels the best and most natural to me.

    Word of advice!

NEVER buy your girlfriend/wife a piece of exercise equipment for X-mas, even if she says that is what she wants!

Check around and see if there is a store near you called Play It Again Sports. They buy used equipment for resell.

Also, check a few gyms in your area and ask if they are about to replace their equipment. You might get a good used one there.
