i guess it depends on if you're looking to increase or decrease the size of your legs... for increase in muscle mass, I would say 30 mins might be a bit much after a leg workout... but if decrease in size is the goal, then I think that sounds good...

I never do cardio on leg day. I prefer to save it for chest, shoulders and arm days.

Jill - I've read that doing cardio after working the legs will help eliminate some of the metabolites and they won't be as sore the next day. Not sure if it's true or not. I do an abbreviated cardio before working legs. They're always sore the next day

I've got a question to go along with this ...

Are you overtraining legs when you do cardio while they are sore?

    Prince,

Do you lessen gains doing cardio the day after leg-day? Or is it just a pain in the @$$ to do it?

Also - are the gains really lessened enough to say that nobody should ever do cardio the day after, even if you are cutting?

I do cardio the day after...or at least I try. I do it b/c my legs are sooooo tight and sore that I want to loosen them up a bit.

I've heard many people say cardio the day after a leg workout helps aid recovery and alleviate soreness... some people do it with upper body as well... the day after their bicept workout, they do a higher rep VERY low weight bicept workout the next day... i think the key is, don't let the intensity of your cardio workout affect your muscle gains... at least that's the key for me...

I'm with ya ... there's no way I could do cardio *after* my leg workout. It's all I can do to walk down the two flights of stairs from the gym.
