You are gonna have to increase your cals. When I was 14, I was 5-11, 130, thin from always playing sports. Now 6-3, 235. It just takes time.

Cut smoking first. Then EAT, EAT, and EAT some more. Eat like you have never eaten before. Use basic multi-joint exercises ( bench, deads, squat, military, pull-ups ) and get lots of rest. It is very possible for you to make the gains you want to. Just make up your mind that this is a goal that you really want to accomplish and then make it a lifestyle change.

You gota be consistent at training heavy, you gota get a lot of rest and eat, eat and eat some more and quit smoking because that plays a role in it also, how are you going to weightr train if you smoke man, you can't. Instead of smoking that cigarete in 4 minutes you couyld use that time and drink a serving of protein or eat meat......... you can gain weight you just gota be consistent at eating an working out and quit smoking because it does play a role in ur weight, ask anyone who used to smoke they are gona tell you that they started eating more since they quit.... also take a multi vitamin....i recomend " Mega Men " at GNC

good luck man you can do it if ur consistent at it, it takes time

Good to hear you have not smoked in almost a week. Good start!!! As far as eating every 2 hours or 6-7 times a day is a good way to build your nutritional base. Try to have some sort of protein w/ every meal if you can help it. Burgers are good since you want to gain weight and with that will gain a lil bit of fat, but try not to eat fast food all the time. Try and consume good foods ( lean beef, chicken, tuna, fish, potatoes, rice, whole milk and water ) and maybe once a week indulge in some fast food just to keep sane. As far as working out, what kind of equipment do you have and weights? Not that I'm an expert or anything of that nature but I would suggest that you work out 3 times a week ( mon wed fri ) or modify this to fit your schedule. The body needs it's rest. Try this for 3-4 weeks and let us know if you've been moving up in weight/ reps and by how you feel. Try to keep your work out around 45 minutes to start w/. Bench and pull ups are 2 gr8 exercises to start w/. If you are able try

Legs :
SQUATS
Lunges

Back : DEADLIFT
Pull ups

Chest : Bench
Dumbell bench - or -
Dips
Shoulders : Military press
Dumbell press
Arms : Barbell curls ( if no barbell )
Dumbell curls

Close grip bench
Dips

These are your more basic exercises which hit a variety of muscles just w/ one exercise.

Again, go to the nutrition forum on here because there are alot of knowledgable ( hope I spelled that right ) people in here that could answer nutrition ?'s better than I could. Best of luck to you and let us know if this works. BE CONSISTANT

Testosterone Magazine had a great article calle the Skinny Bastard Diet(see if you can find it on their site). It had some good info for "hard gainers". As mentioned above, eating is important. But being told to EAT does no good if you do not know how. By that I mean certain foods make you feel fuller for a longer period of time. You want to avoid those foods. Smoking curbs the appetite so the longer you stay away from it the better. Good luck buddy.
