    Deadlifts every second week?

My Back day is on Tuesday ad my leg day is on saturday. I find that if i do deads (regular deads) my hamstrings are still to sore on saturday to do legs. What can i do? Should i do deads every other week?

    Cheers

The Deadlift is a very unforgiving movement, extremly rough on your body, but it's an essential. I'd suggest Deadlift Heavy as hell once every two weeks. Allow yourself to recover. Or possibly try this:

    Week 1: Light Deadlift
    Week 2: Heavy Deadlift
    Week 3: Off

Just sorta pulled that out my ass but I'm guessing it wouldn't be to bad man.
    These are my favorite faces : - - -

    Personal Bests:

    Bench - 235
    Deadlift - 315 X 17
    Squat - 315 X 11
    40 yrd. - 4.65

You could do deads and legs on the same day. Unless ofcourse your chicken!

I do heavy deads once every 3 weeks with Gopro's schedule. Works great!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I do my deadilfts on leg day now because I wass having the same problem doing them on back day that you are haivng. I either squat or I do deads. I alterante my weeks between a heavy week and a light week. So my leg workouts look like this:

    week 1: heavy squat
    week 2: light sqaut
    week 3: heavy dead
week 4: light deadlifts (usually trap bar deadlifts when I am going light)

Switch your leg day so it`s done before back day! Never deadlift first and expect to squat hard later.

I train legs and do deads twice a week. This shocked my muscles at first, but after a while they've gotten used to it, and i've seen some massive results in the size of my hams. I also started taking Glutamine and Vitamin C, this has sped up my muscle's recovery quite a bit. Oh, and i'm not telling you to deadlift twice a week - I have to do that to get ready for competition but I AM saying that your body can probably get used to doing them once a week if you seperate the days properly.

I do stiff legs when I squat and when I do romanian deadlifts. it doesn't really bother me to do both types of deadlifts in the same workout.

There's been quite the variety of responses, from twice a week to once every three weeks. This is clearly a case of your mileage may vary. Experiment and try different schedules. Personally I deadlift on Sundays and do legs (squat) on Wednesday. Lately I've also been doing low rep box squats on both days.

I took out doing SLDL for my legs on the same week I do Deads for my back. Found that was too much strain on my back for the level I'm at right now.
