    Lightbulb Bicep problem

    I broke my left arm almost 2 years ago during a wrestling camp, from that point on its been so much weaker than my right arm. I'm also right handed so that doesn't help.

    Its probably like 3/4 the strength of my right arm, but even when i do curls or something with a bar it feels like i'm using my good arm more too.

    Should I just work my left arm by itslef with dumbell's or something?

    Usually one side is a little stronger than the other side and that's with all of us.

    I would keep curling with the bar but also use the dumbbells for individual work. When using the dumbbells, try to work your left arm a little harder and maybe it will eventually catch up. However, in my opinion, whenever you break a bone it's never as strong as it use to be even if it fully heals. So do the best you can bro and don't worry about it. Whatever you do, never give up!

    are you getting uneven muscle size? if so using dumbells lift with the weak arm first and lift the same reps with your strong arm as you do with your weak arm.

    Definetely make dumbell curls part of your routine. As long as the fracture healed properly there's no reason you cant bring your left arm back up to speed. The heal at the fracture is actually stronger than it was before!

    I agree with Skinsfan. Using dumbells, work your weaker arm first and do the same number of reps with your strong arm. That's what I do.

    I think that when a broken bone heals, it actually becomes stronger than it was before. Being inactive for a long period of time though will atrophe the muscles - and THAT sucks! I broke my leg once and after 4 weeks when they took the cast off, my calve was half the size of the other one! The doctor said that the bone should heal stronger though.

    I think that whether the bone is as strong or weaker than it was before being broken largely depends on the type of break and what bone was actualy broken.
