Well my weightlifting routine has gone straight to hell. The other day i seperated my shoulder at wrestling. So basically 3-6 weeks I m told no gym, wrestling, or anything that requires excessive use of my right shoulder. I don't need surgery because of my age, but it still pisses me off greatly. Blah I m considering in about a week or so benching, but extremely light weights like 60 lbs or something high rep. Anyone think that'd be a bad idea?

yeah, why dont you do that, and report whats going to happen, duhhh, Doctors know what they are talking about (i most cases) and if he told you to rest than do so, Or do you wanna make those 6 weeks into 12 ?

Brando - Question Guy gave you good advice. I also separated my shoulder wrestling in high school, many years ago. I made a huge mistake by trying to rehab my shoulder a week before I got the doctor's approval. All I did was try to move and stretch my arm and shoulder. I screwed up the healing process and lost another four weeks, including a serious shot at the state championship. Don't even move that shoulder without your doctor's approval.

You can still do a little leg work, abs, cardio, but I`d listen to the doc about the shoulder.Let it heal and you`ll come back stronger.

Good adv. tjwes.... Do the stuff you can Brando.....
Leg work, abs, lower back, but still be careful to not stress your shoulder. If your young, you got plenty of time to train but dont let that time be eaten away by being impatient

Man sorry to hear that, yeah i m planning on just doing either seated pedal work or standing on the eliptical, but low intense for a hour. I tested the other night to see if the eliptical caused any discomfort or anything on my shoulder and it didn't so i m gonna go ahead with it. I m hoping i m a quick healer and rather than 3 weeks it ll be 2 weeks. Jan 2nd I go back to orthopetis to get a checkup hopefully it'll be excellent news of recovery . Heh why can't we all just be vampires and heal over night

Brando - you gotta drink the blood if you want to heal like a vampire. Else, it will be a little slower. Good luck!!
