hey all , hope everyone hada great holiday.

ok so i decided to try deadlifts, i read all that i can find and tried them yesterday. i stayed with good form and all. but i just didn't know if i should after each rep let go of the bar, and then start the next rep. or should i hold the bar the whole time. hope you understand what i am saying. i tried it both ways.

also does this really hit the whole body?

side nte these things kicked my ass.

I never loosen my grip on the bar, but for a split second i let the bar rest on the floor then i explode back up with as much force as i can produce.

I know that when P-funk deadlifted with me back in the day he wouldn't even let the bar touch the ground, he would go back up when the bar is about a few inches off of the ground.

not to sound lke a smartass, but on any other exercise do you let go of the bar on each rep?

well, you sort of answered your own question there... but to an extent they do, obviously they do not work every single muscle group, e.g. triceps.

Yeah, I used to only go down to a hang position but now I like to go down to the floor and fully reset for each rep. It is a deadlift so I liek to be just that. I actually touch the ground and even loosen my grip a little bit and then grasp the bar and pull from the floor for the next rep. I actually find that I get better results by reseting like this at the end of each rep. To each his own though.
