    Help - Weird ab delevlopment

I've been training for about 4 months now. I haven't seen a lot of growth but I've shed fat (lost 40 lbs - now 190lbs). Now I have most of the shed jelly from the belly I'm starting to focus on building muscle.

    To my question:

I'm starting to see abs (Yipi!!). However the left hand side is far more developed than the right. I'm not imagining it they are definitely bigger and more defined.

Are there any exercises I can add in to my routine to target one side of the abs to even things up.

    Current ab routine:

    Weighted Crunches x 3 sets of 10
    Crunches x 3 sets of 15
Crunches with legs raised x 3 sets of 15
    Leg raises x 3 sets of 15

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

i dont think so....ive read in a few articles that ab exercises target the whole abdominal muscle usually.....so im sure if u just keep doing what ure doing and losing weight...im sure the other side will start catching up fast.

You cant work out any part of your abs more than another part of it. If what your saying is true then its probly that the fat is unevenly distributed around your abs.

the rectus abdominis is a single muscle, you can not build one area of it, it sounds like a symmetry issue caused by genetics.

When your abdominals are more develped -- they'll look better. But They won't morph into some beautiful shape, but it'll be an improvement

This can be, because the liver is on your left side and some people will have more fat on that side.

    Hi Guys (and Girls)

It's the left side that appears more developed. Your probably right it's genetics or it could be even something as simple as the way I hold myself (as the actress said to the bishop). I'll shift some more fat so I can have a better look before I start worrying.

    Thanks for all your advice

you can still see the insane effects of playing tennis on my body... my right forearm is huge... my left is normal... the whole right side of my body is ripped from Serving, the left side is missing a few muscles... you could actually take the right and left side of my body and easily think it was two different people if you saw separate pics...
    Are you kidding me????

I'm the same way, my entire left side is much stronger then my right. It also has more defentition. Its probably due to being a bus boy for 5 years or so.
