    TP's Ultimate Training 3.0?

    I posted this on my home board, but there are several here who would make good candidates, so here goes:

    Ladies and Gentleman. I was reading up this weekend on a few different training theories (HST, Dual Factor, and others) and I had an epiphony. Well sort of. Throughout the years, I have tried many-a-different-a-routine. Most left me unsatisfied; many I just didn't like. I have tried several of my own conconcotions, or derivations of other plans, and only one has consistently produced the best results both for myself and for many others who I have trained with (I have discussed this many times).

    Anyhow, the point is, this weekend, it hit me -- or at least I think it did -- what all these programs are missing. I think it was the name "dual factor", though not its principals, that brought this into focus. Indeed, it made me realize that all of these programs generally focus on (and require progression of) only one or two of what are the three fundamental principles to growth:

    * volume
    * intensity
    * frequency

    So, I have been formulating a plan that is really combination of several of the many plans I have tried (or put together) over the years, but have never done in unisen. So since I am not going to tell you all the plan now, what is the point of this thread? I am looking for those interested in testing, and perhaps causing me to tweak, the plan.

    What are the parameters? One full Cycle (yep I love cycles) will be about 13 weeks; so that will be the length of your commitment. The goal is, simply, hypertrophy. Recomposition is/can be a goal as well, and I will likely have some dieting parameters and requirements as well (it will combine many aspects of Carb Cycling).

    I am hoping to get 4-5 people interested. Relevant candidates will be:

    * people whom I know, at least marginally (total strangers need not apply -- sorry);
    * well trained individuals (experienced, not beginners, who know their bodies);
    * anal retentive folks (this will require attention to details, logs, etc);
    * Must workout out in a gym (home gyms, except the most sophisticated won't have sufficient equipment);
    * flexability (in terms of the numbers of days one can train, and in terms of personality);
    * Ability to follow the plan to a tee (and not do extra work on your own);
    * Consistency (this is critical, no derivations, for at least 13 weeks);
    * Health (no injury laden folks -- like myself -- please);
    * Bulkers or Recompers only -- no dieters (this will be good for dieters, but its not an ideal testing situation for me);
    * Confidentiality (this program, and the details, will be confidential, until I deem them otherwise);
    * those with a sense of adventure (this will be unlike anything you have ever tried before).

    Email me at twinpeak@avantlabs.com if interested.

    Thanks for listening.

    Rude, i know, but i thought i'd take this rare opportunity to correct you on something.

    Your training proposal sounds very intriguing, though. I wish i was knowledgable enough to give it a shot. Definitely looking forward to the results.

    Your testers gonna keep public logs? Or will it all be private?

    Nah, I make typos all the time. My spelling sucks too.

    Yeah, I'll have them keep public journals, but for obvious reasons, there won't be the details you'd desire.

    When are you looking to start the trial runs? If it were a month or so away I would be interested at running it at maintenance. Gained too much chub during my bulk so I need a few weeks at below maintenance to lean out a bit.
    If sense were common, everyone would have it.

    I don't know if I'm a good candidate... I am looking for a new training program... I am just about to finish a cut... I've been working out for only around a year... only about 8 months really consistently... I have good discipline when it comes to diet... I have very good sleep habits, and I'm open to train as much as required...

    Here's are 3 recent pics:

    I would be interested in starting this program at the beginning of a bulking cycle... I have a trip to hawaii in July and I would like to spend the next few months bulking and then moderate cut for 2 months before the trip...
    Are you kidding me????

    I'm definately interested. I'll be coming off a cutting routine in 3 weeks and was looking for a hyperthrophty routine to last me till the spring.
    1. Been lifting consistent for 31/2 years
    2. Have kept personal logs of all diet and training routines for last 2 years (so that's not a problem).
    3. My job has a gym onsite. Get to workout for free.
    4. Cannot lift on weekends since I'm not at work (may knock me out of running.)
    5. Looking to bulk
    6. Healthy
    7. I do play recreational basketball. ( 1 to 2 games a week)

    I will need before and after pictures taken. Whether they are shown publicly is up to you.

    I will need full disclosure of who you are. Real people only please; so I will need name, address, and phone numbers of all testers. This info will be kept highly confidential, obviously. If this disqualifies you, I understand.

    Potential Testers So Far:

    Section 8 (Avant)
    Loki (Avant)
    Prolangtum (Avant)
    Redant (Avant)
    Captain Deadlift
    Dale Mabry (to start in a month)

    Please confirm today, with your relevant contact info, whether you are in or out (this includes those who are interested but not listed above). Finally, I will set up a private subforum for you all to journal this in detail, and interact, on Avant. Only testers and members of the Avant family will be able to view this. If you want to do a more public, less detailed journal here you are more than welcome.

    Also, please find out strength maxs this week. I don't care if its singles or not, just get a baseline on strength of several different exercises.

    Also, this weekend, take measurements:

    * stomach (around naval)
    * right and left upper arm, flexed
    * Quad
    * Neck
    * BW
    * BF caliper measurements (if you have access)
    * BF% (if possible)

    Thanks.

    Because I am just getting ready to start my pre-contest training so I wouldn't be able to focus on your program as much as I'd like to. I am good for this type of stuff becasue I am really anal about all my training details and keep everything in a journal which, I imagine, would help you out imensly.

    Your missing out on Density

    Density is a big factor wich refers to the amount of work done in a specific amount of time.

    How are you going to do the load and deloading phases?

    Doesnt varying volume and intensity cover your definition of density?

    I would love to give this a go-round, although I dont know you too well and my webcam is only good for video stream, as taking pics for some reason doesnt work on my computer.

    If you would allow me, I would be interested, but since youve already got plenty of canidates who you know much better, I would love to wait, and try it for myself when all the smoke has cleared

    Camaro, you can usually freeze the screen capture in the software or try PRINTSCREEN (key), then Start > Run > MSPAINT and then Edit > Paste from there.

    By density its reffered to mainly fatigue.

    Increasing and decreasing rest periods, super setting, drop sets..etc

    but the key is using them correctly.

    Volume and Intensity are a big part of it, but the huge part is frequency and managing loading and deloading.

    Without properly doing this you will not recieve results to your potential.

    Thats why im wondering how he is going to do this. I've studied periodization for years on all levels. Im also familar with the Fitness Fatigue and Single factor models.

    This is beginning to feel like the hype surrounding Dean Kamen's "IT" back in 2001... everyone wanted to know what this thing was he invented, but he wouldnt tell anyone.

    Four months is so long to wait.

    To each his own TP.

    I dont train for hypertrophy nor care too really.

    The thing is if you dont understand how to manage the loading then the consequences can be stagnation quickly, overtraining or partial results.
