    question from the newbie

this is my workout routine, im trying it to mix up things and im tryin to get a little more cut but still maintain my muscle mass and maybe even gain some muscle. i do cardio everyday and i eat well. i just want to know if it sounds good to anyone out there.

day 1 - chest, tris, cardio
day 2 - cardio, abs + i do 1 workout at 3 *10 of each upper body group at light weight to cut up a bit and keep the muscles goin
day 3 - back, bis, cardio
    day 4 - same as day 2
    day 5 - shoulders, cardio
    day 6 - same as day 2 and 4
day 7 - start up with day 1 again

should i take a day off? am i overtraining? my body doesnt feel like its being overtrained but who knows?

any recommendations, let me know please

I would say rest for at least one day; two days would probably be better. If you want to gain muscle mass, then cut down on the cardio a little bit. I had to eat SO MUCH food when I was jogging 3 days a week and lifting another 3 days a week.

I find two days of cardio and 3 days of ab exercises is sufficient for me to feel good and see results on my abs. It can't really hurt to do more, just be prepared to eat a lot of food to make up for all those calories you're burning.

Also, I would suggest that you do some leg lifts. There is nothing like squats. I recently started doing them. Wow, they are intense. Actually, I do full squats to target my butt a little more, but regular squats do good too.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Just use lighter weights with your legs so that you can do 10+ repititions. Your legs shouldn't get too much bulkier.

Your saying "To keep the muscles going" is a surefire way to stop them from growing!A day off is just that you shouldn`t do anything that affects the bodypart trained on the previous day if you can possibly avoid it.You are grossly overtraining IMO ,and should cut back on training ,cardio, and rest more. Not flaming you, justy trying to help.

Yeah you definitely need at least one day per week off, no questions asked.

day 2 - cardio, abs + i do 1 workout at 3 *10 of each upper body group at light weight to cut up a bit and keep the muscles goin
I really dont understand what you're doing here. 3 sets of 10 for each upper body group at light weight to keep the muscles going? I have never heard of anything like this. I would just do the cardio and abs and be done with it.
