I think that anywhere from 3-5 times per week is a good recommendation. Probably averaging around 4 times per week is a good idea. I have been training about 4 days per week for a while now, and I really enjoy it, and make the best gains training that way.

I weight train 4 days/week and do well with this, enough time for recovery and not overtraining.

Erik, perhaps its not how many times your working out a week but your split and routine that need to be freshened up. i.e changing #sets, exercises, etc.

I lift 3 days a week and do cardio 2 days a week. I think lifting 4 days a week seems to be better for most people, but 3 days a week works better for me and my schedule.

Every now and then you need to change things up. The body will eventually adapt to your routine.

Try changing up the number of sets, the number of reps, the amount of time between sets.

Also using defferent exercises than you normaly use will help.

    Workout your legs REGULARLY too.
